JCCS Academic Language Assessment Week 38 - Video Games

Video games should be used in school curriculum. According to why educational video games should be part of every school's curriculum, "According to the survey, 51 per cent of students in grades 6 to 12 said games would make it simpler to understand difficult concepts". This shows that kids know what is better for them. This also shows that there is an ASPECT behind the FEATURE. According to why educational video games should be part of every school's curriculum,"students are looking for some way to be inspired by education, but the adults in charge think they know what’s best". This shows that students really want to learn. This also shows that if the students don't follow the rules then they get CONSEQUENCES. In conclusion, video games should be used in the school curriculum.

JCCS Academic Language Assessment Week 33 - American Students

American students are falling behind academically compared to other countries. According to huffington post, "COMPARING to South Korea and Finland, they are making gains in academic twice as much as the U.S." This shows that they are more advanced. This also shows that they make their students learn more at a young age. According to huffington post, "The DATA RANGES U.S. to the 17th for having their academic schooling in the world." This shows that, even though the U.S. is more advanced in a lot of things, they aren't as advanced in school then in other countries. This also shows that more U.S. citizens will be possibly more educated in the future. In conclusion, American students need to stop falling academically when compared to other countries.

JCCS Academic Language Assessment Week 31 - Vandalism

Parents should not be accountable for their child's damage. For example, when children ACHIEVE the appropriate age they need to deal with things on their own. This shows that they have deal with their own SPECIFIC consequences. This also shows that they just can't do everything that they want. In addition, a lot of children nowadays do not COMPUTE on how their actions now would affect them later in life. This shows that they want to be reckless and free. This also shows that they don't know when to stop. In conclusion, parents should not get in trouble for their child's damage.

Good friend

What makes a good friend is when they are there for you and are fun to be around. For example, when you are feeling down and you don't have know what to do, you could always talk to your buddy. This shows that they are there for you. This also shows that they could give you good advice when needed. In addition, you could always count on them when you need them the most. This shows that they could do a lot of things for you. This also shows that when your bored and don't know what to do, then you could call them up and hang it with them. In conclusion, a good friend is when they are there for you.

Free time

I usually do nothing in my free time. For example, I just sleep in all day and all night on the weekends. This shows that I am a very lazy person. This also shows that I don't just sleep in the weekends, but after school as well. In addition, sometimes I try to do different things, like read a book, or finish my blanket that I was crocheting, which I highly doubt that I would ever finish. This shows that I have more things that I could be doing other then sleeping all day. This also shows that my laziness gets the best of me and I just tend to be sleeping all the time. In conclusion, I am a very lazy person in general, especially during my free time.

Treating meddlesome people

The best way to treat meddlesome people, people who get into your business, is to just ignore them or just to politely ask them to stop. For example, when they are trying to start drama or when they try to get into your business. This shows that when they do things, you would need to be assertive to deal with them. This also shows that you would need to not let them get to you. In addition, if they do not listen to you, then be more up front with them to let them know that you do not like what they are doing. This shows that you are being mature for trying to deal with the situation. This also shows that you need to be calm and to not loose control when your dealing with people like that. In conclusion, if they still don't listen to you, then go for it and tell on them.

JCCS Academic Language Assessment Week 30 - "D" Grades

Schools shouldn't eliminate "D" grades. For example, the school staff could INTERACT with students who get close to getting a low grades. This shows that students will have more help when their grades get low. This also shows that so they could COMPENSATE the students who don’t know anything. In addition, there are many other reasons why schools shouldn't eliminate "D" grades. This shows that the INITIAL reason for “D” grades is to give students extra time to bring it up before it becomes an “F”. This also shows that students would be able to have a border line between "C" and "F".
In conclusion, eliminating "D" grades would be a bad thing to do.

dislike

The thing that I dislike about myself the most is my body. For example, I can not wear most of the things I would want to wear, knowing that I would make a lot of clothes look bad. This shows that I am very self-conscious about myself. This also shows that I do not like the way I look. In addition, I am trying to loose all of my fattiness. This shows that I should eat healthy and work out more. This also shows that I do not do that because I'm still fat and obese. In conclusion, I really should loose and be more healthy so that way I could fit in with the other cool kids.

children ruling the world

If children ruled the world, then I would feel scared for myself and all of the other teens and adults out there in the world. For example, they would put everyone that is overaged into dungeons or jail/prison. This shows that they would torture and mistreat us. This also shows that we would be possible slaves for them as long as they are in control. In addition, they could also act like the children of the corn. This shows that they would probably do worse then just prison us. This also shows that they could kill us. In conclusion, children ruling the world is not a good idea.

Raining cats and dogs...

If it rained cats and dogs, then everywhere would be very hectic. For example,the cats and dogs would be in pain for they would fall on things that are hard. This shows that they could break their bones. This also shows that a lot of children would be mortified at the sight they would see everyday. In addition, their would be more problems other then the poor cats and dogs being in pain. This shows that there would be a lot of traffic jams and problems. This also shows that it could be very noisy and also complicated to adjust to. In conclusion, cats and dogs that are rained from the sky would be a complicated situation to deal with.

Parents should not have to fave jail time if they miss they're child's conferences. For example, there is a RESOURCE that says parents are very busy and don't have time to make it to the parent-teacher conferences. This shows thatif it was really a big of an issue, then the teachers could SEEK out the parents if they really needed to. This also shows that the parents could have a perfectly good reason not to go. In addition, a lot of parents can't make always make it to the conferences. This shows that the parents could have their children TRANSFER to another school where it would be less of an issue. This also shows that the school could be closer to home or to their job. In conclusion, parents that miss their child's conferences shouldn't have to face jail time.

If my friend has a broken leg

If my friend has a broken leg, I would hang out with them to cheer them up. For example, we could play games of whatevver their choice is and possibly watch movies. This shows that I'm trying my best. This also shows that we get to do whatever they want. In addition, if they want to we could also go somewhere if they're leg doesn't hurt too much. This shows that I am thinking about they're condition. This also shows that we could exercise which would help they're leg. In conclusion, I would spend a lot of time with my friend until they get better or they get annoyed with me.

No television

If there was no television, there could be bad things and good things about having no television. The good things about having no television is that people would be less lazy and would go out and possibly do something active. But also there are different things that could make people lazy and not do anything. For example, they could be on the computer, on their phones or just sit on the couch 24/7. The bad things of no t.v. is that people could have withdrawl effects and make an argument or a revolution for having no t.v. since a lot of people are addicted to it in this generation. In conclusion, televisons being extinct has its goods and bads effects.

Best advice

I have recieved a lot orf really good advie, I'm pretty sure everyone has. But the best one that I use is that no one is perfect and that everyone has their own problems. I go by this piece of advice because it is very true. Another reason that I go by this piece of advice is that it helps me not to judge others. In addition, I also use this advice in different times in need. I don't use it just to go by it, but I also use it when people try to judge me or others. I also use it because my mom and other generations of moms before her have told me that this is the best way to go in life. In clonclusion, by going by the advice that my family has taught me is one of my favorites and is also the best one that I have gotten so far.

My favorite room

My favorite room in the house is my own personal bedroom. Forexample, I get to sleep in my own bed without feeling anything awkward like being a burdan or taking too much space. This shows that I can feel comfortable in my room. This also shows that I can sleep however I want without people criticizing. In addition, I can do  a lot of other things in my room. This shows that I could also watch movies when I'm bored on the weekings. This also shows that me and a friend could talk about stuff in my room without worrying about people over hearing. In conclusion, my bedroom is my favorite room.

JCCS Academic Language Assessment week 27 -

School officials do not have the right to use drug-sniffing dogs. For example, it takes a long PROCESS to drain dogs for sniffing out drugs. This shows that drug sniffing dogs shouldn't be used just for no reason at all. This also shows that principles would just ASSUME that somewould just have drugs on them, and it would be just a waste of time if there is no drugs on the student or person. In addition, it would also take a long time for the police to RESPOND to other schools. This shows that the police can't always be depended on. This also shows that principles should just learn not to assume too much. In conclusion, drug sniffing dogs shouldn't be allowed in schools.

Just whatever

If I could do anything I want right now, it would be to just finish my homework and then to go to bed. For example, I would be going to bed soon. This shows that I am commited to doing my homework. This also shows that I would start to get ready for bed. In addition, I would also be watching a movie. This shows that I like movies. This also shows that I like watching movies before I sleep. In conclusion, I would be doing a lot of things right now.

Dull evenings

There could be many ways for an evening to be dull. For example, if I were sitting in my room and I don't know what to do. This shows that I was probably lazy all that day. This also shows that I was very bored. In addition, another way to have a dull evening is that you had a really good start for the day. This shows that I had a really good beginning of the day. This also shows that now I don't know what to do for the rest of the evening. In conclusion, there is a lot of things that could change your evening.

Friends running away

If a friend told me that they were going to run away from home, I would think that there must be something wrong at home that is bothering them. For example, I would ask them what happened. This shows that I am trying to find out what bad happened. This also shows that I would try and figure out what to do for them. In addition, if they're just wanting to leave home for no reason at all or just because they don't want any dicipline, then I would just tell them that they're not very smart. This shows that I'm not a very good friend for insulting them. This also shows that I'm not a bad friend for helping them out or encouraging them. In conclusion, it alll depends on the situation, but I'm not going to help them run away.

Cars should be able to drive themselves. For example, less car accidents would OCCUR. This shows that deaths would decrease. This also shows that people wont have traumas from car accidents. In addition, the company who made up the idea for a car that drives itself is a good METHOD. This shows that It can PROCEED on its own. This also shows that a person with a disability would be able to drive on their own. In conclusion, cars should be able to drive themselves.

Adults should not be allowed to carry concealed guns. For example, the gun companies would start to ESTABLISH more guns for people when they start to buy them. This shows that people are wasting their money to buy more guns. This also shows that the gun companies will get more money from all of their clients. In addition, people are more harmed with guns. This shows that a lot of people are INDICATING by could commit a suicide. This also shows that people should by JUSTIFIED because they're doing more crimes by killing other people. In conclusion, people should not carry concealed guns.

JCCS Academic Language Assessment Week 24 - Online Learning

Online learning is a effective way to educate students. According to  "Is Online Learning Right For Me?" students can CLARIFY more flexible class schedules that help accommodate existing time commitments such as full-time work, or odd job shifts. This shows that students can DIFFERENTIATE from others by choosing your own credits. This also shows that more students will work online. According to Is Online learning Right For Me? online schools are able to offer programs not always available in the students AREA. This shows that students can go to school without having to dress up. This also shows that students wont have to wake up early just to walk a long time to their school that is far away. In conclusion, a effective way to educate students is online learning.

JCCS Academic Language Assessment Week 23 - Dog Fighting

Dog fighting should be illegal. For example, dog fighting is a DISTINCT form of death and animal cruelty. This shows that there will be a lesser population of dogs if they continue to die. This also shows that dogs have really good POTENTIAL of hurting someone when they are taught to fight. In addition, there are many different FORMULA’S of abusing a dog when they lose. This shows that animal cruelty is getting out of control. This also shows that dogs could go through a lot of pain before they die. In conclusion, people should help out and stop dog fighting and make it stop forever.

Felons should be allowed to vote. For example,  even though they do really bad things and get themselves into COMPLEX situations. This shows that if they didn't get themselves into a lot of trouble, then it would be easier for them to vote. This also shows that the government should start having more RELEVANT ideas to fix the conflict of weather felons should or shouldn't vote. In addition, there is a lot of SOURCE coming from the politics saying that they shouldn't let felons vote. This shows that everyone should be allowed to vote on weather felons could have the full rights from when they leave jail or prison. This also shows that even felons should have the right to vote. In conclusion, felons should be allowed to vote.

JCCS Academic Language Assessment Week 21

Performance enhancing drugs, such as steroids, should not be allowed in sports. For example, people have to do things PRIMARILY, so that way they won’t damage their bodies. This shows that people would cheat TRADITION of sports. This also shows that people will possibly die more from using steroids. In addition, there will be a PERIOD in time when they will make a law about people taking drugs when they are in a sport. This shows that athletes should just stop now instead of making it harder on themselves. This also shows that athletes would be healthier instead of corrupting their career and trying to make themselves look good. In conclusion, doing drugs shouldn't be allowed in sports.

Finding a magic wand

If I found a magic wand, I would try and figure out how to use it, just in case I would need a special dictionary, so that way I could look up the words while I'm trying out the wand. First, I would look up online and see if anyone put up a missing wand. If no one didn't, then I would play with it, and find out how to use it. Second, I would go to a different country with a lot forests and trees. Usually wizards and witches live in the middle of forests. Lastly, if I found the person who owns the wand, then I would give it back to them and tell them that while I had it, I was trying to figure it out, but I couldn't so they don't have to worry about me using up all of their power. In conclusion, I would give it back to whoever it belonged to.

Best gift ever

If I could give any gift in the world, I would give my mom and my sisters a lot of money, big houses and really good jobs that would last all three of  them for a while. I choose this gift because a lot of families become homeless because of the bad economy: lack of jobs, no money, etc. So, I do not want my mom and my sisters to go through that, that is why I would give them this gift. In conclusion, my sisters and my mom would live happily ever after and die of old age, and not from starvation.

JCCS Academic Language Assessment Week 20

Students should receive a falling grade for plagiarizing. For example, students need to learn how to work, and instead of copying from DOCUMENTS all the time. This shows that it could reach the MAXIMUM of plagiarizing, then the documents might block everyone from seeing or using them. This also shows that people really need to think up of new ideas for their work. In addition, plagiarizing could affect the students ACADEMIC learning. This shows that if students don't do their work, they wont be smart when they're older. This also shows that plagiarizing would be a unnecessary skill to have. In conclusion, students deserve a bad grade for plagiarizing.

Surprise parties

If there was a surprise party for me and I wasn't surprised, I would not know what to do. If their was a lot of people, I would act all surprised but if someone asks me if I was surprised, I would tell them the truth that I wasn't actually surprised and say that I'm sorry. Then I would ask them what they brought. If they brought something interesting then I would say thank you and go and have some fun with all of the people who were supposed to surprise me. In conclusion, I would try and be honest as possible and try not to hurt anyones feelings when I'm not surprised.

The United States should help countries like Haiti and Japan recover after a disaster. For example, when the new poll INVESTS in which countries are the friendliest, they would pick the one that helps out the most. This shows that you can get more tourists and also a good SURVEY on this country. This also shows that when you get more tourists then you can get more money. In addition, you can also get offered more REGIONS around the world if you help out other countries more. This shows that the U.S. would look good. This also shows that the U.S. might get enough money to pay off their debts. In conclusion, the U.S. should help out other countries after disasters.

My favorite month

My favorite months of the year are August and December. The first reason I like August is because that is when my birthday is and it is also usually in Summer break. The second reason I love December is because  I love Christmas and I get to spend a lot of time with friends and family and I also get a lot of gifts. The last reason I like December and August is because I love the winter and the cold. Those are my one reason for liking August and my two reasons for liking December. In conclusion, my two favorite months are August and December.

The poor Cookie Jar :(

If I dropped a cookie jar and it broke, I would be very sad. First I would see if all of the cookies were on the floor. If they were, then I would try to pick up all of the big pieces. Then I would put them in the trash and go run and get a broom and a dustpan. After I got the broom, I would sweep all of the pieces into the dustpan and put it in the trash. In conclusion, I would pick up my mess and if anyone asks what happened, then I would tell them the truth of what happened.

Teen drivers should not have special restrictions placed on their drivers' license. For example, teens that acquire to drive and get their drivers license shouldn’t have to be in at a certain time, what if they were being chased and they had to drive for a long time. This shows that a lot of adults don’t conclude that just because they’re teenagers they should have the same rights to drive and have no restrictions like driving with friends. This also shows that adults should teach their children and maybe trust them a little more. In addition, its also in the American culture to learn how to drive and have no special restrictions. This shows that we should follow our culture more. This also shows that just because teens are younger doesn't mean that they are immature. In conclusion,

New Years Eve party

This year, my New Years Eve was alright.  I liked last years New Years Eve better. For example, I had someone to hang out with, so I wasn't alone. They also had hot wings for food on last years party. But this years fruit punch was better because it wasn't watered down. I also didn't really stay for that long at the party because my house was open and there wasn't a lot of places that I could sit at. Last year my house wasn't open and there was tables that were available. All in all last years and this years party were the same. The things that I would do different would be the food and how it was set up. I probably would have brought some yummy junk food like soda, pizza and chips. Then for the set-up I would put more tables and with chairs instead of having a whole bunch of chairs lined up together without any tables. Not everyone is going to like each other so their not going to want to sit next to each other and also people aren't going to want to carry their sweater around so they would need a table to put it down on. In conclusion, I hated both of the New Years Eve partie except for last years food and this years fruit punch.
