JCCS Academic Language Assessment Week 33 - American Students

American students are falling behind academically compared to other countries. According to huffington post, "COMPARING to South Korea and Finland, they are making gains in academic twice as much as the U.S." This shows that they are more advanced. This also shows that they make their students learn more at a young age. According to huffington post, "The DATA RANGES U.S. to the 17th for having their academic schooling in the world." This shows that, even though the U.S. is more advanced in a lot of things, they aren't as advanced in school then in other countries. This also shows that more U.S. citizens will be possibly more educated in the future. In conclusion, American students need to stop falling academically when compared to other countries.

JCCS Academic Language Assessment Week 31 - Vandalism

Parents should not be accountable for their child's damage. For example, when children ACHIEVE the appropriate age they need to deal with things on their own. This shows that they have deal with their own SPECIFIC consequences. This also shows that they just can't do everything that they want. In addition, a lot of children nowadays do not COMPUTE on how their actions now would affect them later in life. This shows that they want to be reckless and free. This also shows that they don't know when to stop. In conclusion, parents should not get in trouble for their child's damage.

JCCS Academic Language Assessment Week 30 - "D" Grades

Schools shouldn't eliminate "D" grades. For example, the school staff could INTERACT with students who get close to getting a low grades. This shows that students will have more help when their grades get low. This also shows that so they could COMPENSATE the students who don’t know anything. In addition, there are many other reasons why schools shouldn't eliminate "D" grades. This shows that the INITIAL reason for “D” grades is to give students extra time to bring it up before it becomes an “F”. This also shows that students would be able to have a border line between "C" and "F".
In conclusion, eliminating "D" grades would be a bad thing to do.

JCCS Academic Language Assessment Week 26 - Cars

Cars should be able to drive themselves. For example, less car accidents would OCCUR. This shows that deaths would decrease. This also shows that people wont have traumas from car accidents. In addition, the company who made up the idea for a car that drives itself is a good METHOD. This shows that It can PROCEED on its own. This also shows that a person with a disability would be able to drive on their own. In conclusion, cars should be able to drive themselves.

JCCS Academic Language Assessment Week 25 - Concealed Carry

Adults should not be allowed to carry concealed guns. For example, the gun companies would start to ESTABLISH more guns for people when they start to buy them. This shows that people are wasting their money to buy more guns. This also shows that the gun companies will get more money from all of their clients. In addition, people are more harmed with guns. This shows that a lot of people are INDICATING by could commit a suicide. This also shows that people should by JUSTIFIED because they're doing more crimes by killing other people. In conclusion, people should not carry concealed guns.

Felons should be allowed to vote. For example,  even though they do really bad things and get themselves into COMPLEX situations. This shows that if they didn't get themselves into a lot of trouble, then it would be easier for them to vote. This also shows that the government should start having more RELEVANT ideas to fix the conflict of weather felons should or shouldn't vote. In addition, there is a lot of SOURCE coming from the politics saying that they shouldn't let felons vote. This shows that everyone should be allowed to vote on weather felons could have the full rights from when they leave jail or prison. This also shows that even felons should have the right to vote. In conclusion, felons should be allowed to vote.

Performance enhancing drugs, such as steroids, should not be allowed in sports. For example, people have to do things PRIMARILY, so that way they won’t damage their bodies. This shows that people would cheat TRADITION of sports. This also shows that people will possibly die more from using steroids. In addition, there will be a PERIOD in time when they will make a law about people taking drugs when they are in a sport. This shows that athletes should just stop now instead of making it harder on themselves. This also shows that athletes would be healthier instead of corrupting their career and trying to make themselves look good. In conclusion, doing drugs shouldn't be allowed in sports.

The United States should help countries like Haiti and Japan recover after a disaster. For example, when the new poll INVESTS in which countries are the friendliest, they would pick the one that helps out the most. This shows that you can get more tourists and also a good SURVEY on this country. This also shows that when you get more tourists then you can get more money. In addition, you can also get offered more REGIONS around the world if you help out other countries more. This shows that the U.S. would look good. This also shows that the U.S. might get enough money to pay off their debts. In conclusion, the U.S. should help out other countries after disasters.

Teen drivers should not have special restrictions placed on their drivers' license. For example, teens that acquire to drive and get their drivers license shouldn’t have to be in at a certain time, what if they were being chased and they had to drive for a long time. This shows that a lot of adults don’t conclude that just because they’re teenagers they should have the same rights to drive and have no restrictions like driving with friends. This also shows that adults should teach their children and maybe trust them a little more. In addition, its also in the American culture to learn how to drive and have no special restrictions. The benefits of importing Chinese goods do not outweigh the consequences. For example, When items are being IMPORTED from China, they are a lot cheaper. This shows that people could save their money and wont have to pay as much. This also shows that when they EXPORT things to the U.S. they will get more jobs and their economy will get better. In addition, they are very FUNCTIONED with their items that are for sale. This shows that they are smarter. This also shows that they know what they're doing. In conclusion, importing Chinese goods does not outweigh the consequences.

Junk food should not be banned from high school vending machines. For example, in the PREVIOUS years, like 2001 before the banning on junk food vending machines, the vending machines earned $214,000 in profits, msnbc.com reports. This year, they've only earned $17,000. This shows that companies wont be able to get profit from their consumers. This also shows that there STRATEGY plan might not work, because they wont get enough money from their consumers. In addition, a lot of adults say that there are ALTERNATIVE foods to eat. This shows that adults don't pay attention then they say they do. This also shows that students can't always eat some of those healthy foods, because they are possibly allergic to them or they just don't like them, In conclusion, adults say that junk food in vending machines should be banned, but a lot of people disagree with that thought.

JCCS Academic Language Assessment Week 5

Vaccinations should be required for all students. For example, in the 1920's there was a ESTIMATE of children getting diphtheria and then doctors started vaccinating children for that in the 1930’s and then they barely started seeing that illness. This shows that there will be a POSITIVE sign in this century that their wont be a lot of dangerous diseases. This also shows why doctors do vaccinations for children. In addition, doctors can ILLUSTRATE that all the vaccinations are free if you have medi-cal, and it just takes a few minutes of your day. This shows that you don't have to pay. This also shows that you can't use the excuse that vaccinations are too expensive. In conclusion, children should get vaccinations, unless if they are allergic.

My favorite time of the day

My favorite time of the day is night time. For example, when it is night time I feel more alive. This shows that I prefer the night then the day. This also shows that I can do more tings at night tome. In addition, I'm not a morning person and I usually can't function well in the morning either. This shows that I have trouble during the morning then the night. This also shows that during night time, I can think about things, and it is also the time to sleep. In conclusion, night is my favorite time of the day, and it is not as hot the day during day time.

The pressure of teen sports has gone too far. For example, scientists are looking into SIGNIFICANT information, that coaches are asking the students to practice before school. This shows that students are  being CONSTRUCTED more then they should. This also shows that practicing too much in the morning might tire them and they might not stay up during school. In addition scientists have IDENTIFIED which teens that will have behavior problems because there is too much pressure from playing sports. This shows that scientists look at who is being depressed and also slacking on their grades. This also shows that some teens will start doing bad things like drinking and stuff. In conclusion, I think that the pressure of teen sports has gone way too far.

I think that parents should regulate their children's diet. For example, parents have to stop buying their children junk food and buy more APPROPRIATE food for their health. This shows that parents have to be more responsible and have more FOCUS on their children. This also shows that parents need to read the ingredients and research what a lot of the food CONSISTS of these days. In addition, kids who eat unhealthy when their younger tend to have a lot more health problems when they're growing up. This shows that kids also have to take part of taking care of themselves. This also shows that parents have to keep an eye on what they eat. In conclusion, I think that parents should have the right to change their children's diet and make them more healthier.

Academic Language Week 33 - American Students

Cell phones should be allowed in schools. One reason is that kids who are mature and have good grades should be allowed more privileges such as having your phones out but not using them when the teacher is teaching but you can also check it temporarily. Another reason is that there might be an emergency and they might need to answer it. Lastly, they might need to use their phones in an classroom activity and have to participate in the activity. In conclusion, students should be allowed to use their cell phones during school.

Academic Language Week 37 - Unhealthy Meal Choices

The fast food industry should not be allowed to target kids with unhealthy meal choices. One reason is that there is a THEORY that if you eat a lot of junk food, you can get a heart attack at an early age. Another reason is that there is a SECTION of people with an illness and they can’t eat unhealthy foods. Lastly, some fast food places are SIMILAR to other fast food places, but they are unhealthier and have less healthy food options to choose from. In conclusion, a lot of people think that the fast food industry shouldn't be allowed to target kids with unhealthy food choices.

Academic Language Week 35 - Sweatshops

Sweatshops are a violation to human rights. One reason is that they have to go through hard LABOR with their bosses and yet they don’t get paid enough. Another reason is that they should not have APPLIED for a job that won’t pay for their rent and their other resources such as bills, food, their children's needs, etc. Lastly, some people had to finish their CONTRACTS that were made with other people. Sometimes they make contracts for money loans or their rent needed to get paid. In conclusion people who work at sweatshops are an violation to their own rights.

Academic Language Week 33 - American Students

American students are falling behind academically compared to the students in other countries. One reason is that there has been DATA on student drop outs being more recent then it was in the past couple of years. Another reason is that COMPARED to the other countries, we are less advanced in technology then the countries who are have more advanced technology then the countries who don't. Lastly, the RANGE of teachers who are not as educated as the teachers in different countries who give out more education. That is why American students in America are failing then the other countries which are more advanced.

Academic Language Week 32 - Exit Exam

A student should have to pass a high school exit exam in order to earn a high school diploma and to get a well paying job. One reason is for children to OBTAIN higher academic performance in their classes. Another reason is to DISTRIBUTE scores fairly among California for the students who are disabled and who are not disabled. Lastly, children's academic skills VARY in each subject. This can highlight their strengths and weaknesses in subjects they can or can not do. In conclusion, students have to pass the exit exam in order to pass school, get a diploma, and get a well paying job.
